We've seen a lot of rooms fall short on shutters or blinds, and windows with the wrong treatment
When you've been working hard to create a room with a view, a sense of tranquility or whichever mood of room you've been working on, it's so easy to forget how to dress your windows that we've made a whole section just for window treatments to make sure you get it right the first time!
Dressing your windows can be an expensive business, and it doesn't really matter if you have brand new A rated uPVC windows, or rattly old sash windows which drip with style, what you cover them with will make or break the design and outlook you have on your room. We've seen so many net curtains in our time it's a wonder we are still talking about windows. It's not 1984 now, yes we need privacy, and yes we want to be able to curtain twitch, but I've even seen temporary vinyl blinds which cost about a fiver which look better than net curtains, trust.
How can windows be such a big deal?
What you use to cover your windows makes a massive difference to the look and feel of any room. You can be as bold as you like with curtains, pick wild colours that flap in the breeze, or decorate with interior shutters that sing with style. It often comes down to budgets, as designer products for windows can cost as much as the windows themselves nearly, but if you're splashing out a few hundred quid per window with new glass, how can you pop down Ikea and spend under £5 for a shabby old blind? Not that they only do shabby old blinds mind, ikea have some great window coverings like these.
We recently came across a company operating in Manchester who have been installing window shutters for clients across the South East but have now gone headlong into the North West and Liverpool. They provide a full measure design and install service for the public in and around Liverpool and Manchester (and businesses we believe). If you are looking for Manchester shutters then we would advise paying this company a visit as their product and service appears to be well reviewed and they do offer what seems to be excellent value for money with low cost yet high quality solid wooden window treatments.
Money isn't everything in dressing your windows
Quality high class materials needn't cost as much as you think. We've seen shutter installation companies working at under £200 square meter which is pretty incredible when you think how much work is involved in making window shutters. Other companies will install wooden blinds for less than this, so the best place to start is to measure up your windows for whatever dressing you're likely to use. There are excellent resources for measuring windows for any covering, we recommend reading up but we will provide detailed instructions on these pages. Spend the right money on your windows, not miney for the sake of it, and you will be able to marry your ideas in the room, with your outlook from the room. Read on and we hope you enjoy. If you have any questions please get in touch and we'll be happy to help.
